So I ordered this product since I wanted an aluminum board and not a nerf bar... not many of those for my '16 f150. The package arrived promptly and fairly well packed. I worried about everything just wrapped in plastic, but there were no mars or scratches, so all was good. One thing was missing, or perhaps the kit is now different. Mine didn't have the square plastic washers to go between the brackets and the rocker panel. The truck has an aluminum body, so putting dissimilar metals together (I think the brackets are powdercoated steel, but I could be wrong) will cause premature corrosion. I contacted the seller and they did mention those washers are no longer necessary. But being a bit picky myself I decided to go to Lowe's and buy some replacement washers anyway. The seller was very courteous and helpful and actually gave me a partial refund... that was much appreciated.Since I'm a bit paranoid about mating aluminum to steel, I went an extra step beyond just putting washers in between the brackets and the rocker panel. I also added dielectric grease to basically seal the whole area, stud, washers and locknut from any moisture. A bit of overkill, but cheap insurance imo. I also did that to the areas around the inserts on the boards, Btw, those inserts are mated directly to the aluminum board, but as far as I can tell, I think they're brass, so they should be ok corrosion wise. The installation went very smoothly. On my truck it's pretty much a no brainer, all brackets are the same, and the boards also fit either way as far as I can tell. Kudos to the designers and Ford for making it easy for us dyi folk. It took me just about an hour, but that's only because I went slow and methodical. Also I kept getting distracted by all the clean shiny brand new parts underneath, lol.Anyways, the boards look great on the truck and tbh I think I made the right decision going with the 4" rather than the 5" boards... but that's just my preference. Everything looks like it was meant to be there from the factory.Highly recommended.
