Help for wife getting in and out of truckAfter a lot of research, I finally settled on these boards for my 2014 Ram 1500....and I'm definitely happy with my purchase. Honestly, for the price, I don't think there is anything better out there. I went with the 4" because I thought that 5" may stick out too far, however after having them installed I think 5" would have been fine. But I'm very happy with the 4" boards. Installation was pretty straight forward - not from the directions of course, but after watching the YouTube video (just search for iboard installation on YouTube and you'll find it) everything was simple. Like other reviewers have noted, the middle bracket was mislabeled - just switch the middle brackets (left side on right, right side on left) and everything lines up perfectly. The biggest thing if you're installing these boards: hand tighten every bolt, then shake it all around to get it settle properly, then tighten everything up. This is very important!! Once on, these boards look good, and feel extremely sturdy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because from a distance you can see the brackets under the truck. There are other bracket designs that would completely get rid of this issue. But, that's just being picky. In fact, if I could give them 4.5 stars on this app, I would! The product and price are good. It took me 2.5 hours to install by myself on a 2016 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4X4. Took me 45 minutes to lay out off the parts to make sure I had them all, should have taken me 15 minutes. The problem was that none of the bolts, brackets (except one for the driver side front), lock washers, washers, were labeled. It would have been so much easier to inventory and install for instance if the M12 vs the M8 bolts and associated fitting were labeled. Took off one start for bad instructions and labeling. Took off another star because the driver side front bracket could have been just like all the other brackets and have a 3-way support rather than only two. This was mentioned in other reviews also. I'm wondering why the heck would 1 out of 6 brackets be different when they all could be the same which also lost me install time, because I had to sit there and figure out if I was doing something wrong. When I browsed the reviews and saw others had the same issue, I went on installing.Just delivered late in the day yesterday. My husband is a very clever and crafty man who can make or build anything, mechanical or otherwise. It was later in the day and early evening when he decided to look at the fitment for these boards and his initial response is that he believes they do not fit the 2016 Ram 1500. I am not mechanical but his explanation to me is that something was changed between 2015 and 2016 near the cab mounts to not allow a normal fit and that he would have to modify the boards. He is going to take a closer look today in the daylight, given that the lighting was not the best last night but I suspect t he is correct since he is a craftsman himself. It looks like iBoard is not aware of the change between 2015 and 2016. Therefore if it is not right, they will have to be sent back and look for another brand. Not too happy about this, it will be a hassle unless he decides to modify them which will take time. He shouldn't have to do this, they should fit as advertised. If after today, when I return from work, he tells me that he was mistaken and things looks differently in the daylight; then I will repost all positive but for now it looks like iBoard missed this one. All the reviews regarding fitment were from 2015 not 2016 - beware if you have a 2016.Well husband put them both on but not without issue. The passenger side went on without incident and took about 15 min. Not so with the driver side. I should add that we have the diesel model 2016 Outdoorsman and perhaps that is the issue. There is a reinforcing bracket on the cab of the truck on the drivers side that prevents the bracket on the running board from alignment. He basically had to cut the bracket in half and then weld a tab onto it to make it fit. I will try to attach a picture of the process. They look great now that they are on but many people may to have the tools required to do the modification nor should they. I choose the correct year, make, model and cab style for fitment. We are not happy that we had to go through all this to make them fit. Therefore, my review of 1 star stands.Install went great, even for me. I am not very mechanically inclined. Installed on my 2017 Ram Quad Cab. From reading other reviews I came to the conclusion that these running boards have been upgraded. 1 bracket is for the front driver's side and the other five are universal. New design does not require the support brackets. There are no mislabeled pieces that need to be put on the opposite side from how they are labeled. The universal design means the brackets do not need to be labeled, and they are not, except for the front driver's side. Great price and sturdy, even for me with my weight of 275 pounds!Just installed on my Ram 1500 and it would’ve been a breeze if I had all the required hardware but it was a simple matter of running to local hardware store and pick up a few items. All in I saved over $250 by purchasing the open box option from Amazon. It installed easily. All the hardware was correct and the instructions were pretty straightforward. I like the rigid step, The women that ride all say that it was a great addition for entering and exiting the vehicle. They appreciate it's wide step. It's very sturdy and reassuring to be able to step up into the cabin.Only complaint is that it isn't chrome, it's polished aluminum and it isn't clear coated. You can't let it go between washes. You have to polish it on a regular basis or it will start to look bad. It leaves tarnish water marks.I gave it 4 stars because it's a very good value for the money. Even with the maintance issues.Très peux résistant
